Dhivehi name: Magoo – މަގޫ

Description: Previously used in the Maldives to construct traditional houses. During the Second World War, the leaves were eaten as a famine food. The shrub is frequently planted to help reduce coastal erosion. Garlands are made from the fragrant flowers and seeds.
